Primal Scream and Spiritualized performed a benefit concert for the HOPING Foundation at the Brixton Academy on 16 October 2004. They were joined on stage by Nick Cave and sold out the 5000 capacity venue within hours.

Palestine
The Guardian, Friday October 15, 2004
“Tomorrow our band Primal
Scream, together with Spiritualized and some other special guests,
are playing in London for the children of Palestine. As far as I know,
it's the first time that a benefit gig has been staged on this scale
in Britain for the Palestinian people.”

HOPING Foundation’s scarf and tee shirts, designed exclusively
by Bella Freud to coincide with the benefit concert,

are using merchandise as key fundraising tools – HOPING’s
garments are cited by Ellen Burney as a prime example. “It’s
very important to have really cool merchandising as it means that
people are inadvertantly drawn to the charity,” says Freud.
