Program Expansion and Equipment for Disabled Children

With a HOPING grant, the Local Committee for the Rehabilitation of the Disabled was able to expand their already-existing special education programme which surveys and registers all deaf and speechless children within the Camp and surrounding areas. This program provides the children with an early special education programme in order that they may then integrate into mainstream schools that do not otherwise have the capabilities of attending to their needs. The Committee was able to purchase FM system devices, hear-measure machines, speech and pronunciation equipment and computer programmes for the refugee children to use.
