Training Workshops for Nursery Supervisors
Palestinian refugee camps, Lebanon

A series of training workshops were organised in all of the Palestinian refugee camps in Lebanon. Run by local communications and educational experts, with the General Union of Palestinian Women and nursery school administrators throughout Lebanon, HOPING sponsored five workshops in the camps of Nahr El-Bared and el-Baddawi in the north of Lebanon, Burj el-Barajneh, Mar Elias and Sabra and Shatila camps near Beirut, Wavell and Central Beqaa camps, Ain El-Helweh and Mieh Mieh camps in Sidon, and El-Buss, Burj el-Shemali, and Rashidiyeh camps in Tyre. Almost 800 supervisors and nursery supervisor assistants were provided with the tools by which to impart an understanding of international children’s rights to young Palestinian refugee children, and the methods with which to communicate abstract ideas to young children.
