Karaoke with the Stars

On 19th June 2008, the second annual Karaoke with the Stars auction and dinner was held at Ronnie Scott's in London, raising £319,000 in support of the work of the HOPING Foundation for Palestinian refugee children. Bruce Forsyth presented the auction with Olly Barker of Sotheby's in which guests were able to bid for the chance to sing with, or be serenaded by, one of the celebrity performers. The most phenomenal range of artists donated their time and talent to help Palestinian children by contributing a karaoke song to the foundation. Gwyneth Paltrow, Bryan Ferry, Lou Reed, Jools Holland, Jarvis Cocker, Lily Cole, Nick Cave, Sharleen Spiteri, Lulu and Jeff Beck all brought the house down with their sensational renditions of karaoke classics whilst raising awareness of the issue of Palestinian refugee children in an extraordinary evening of music and hope.
