Schools in Palestinian refugee camps are run by the United Nations Relief and Works Agency. Classrooms are overcrowded and it can be very difficult for students to receive the individual learning support they need. HOPING provides revision sessions for children taking their end of school exams in Arabic, English, Science and Maths. These classes give young refugees the opportunity to raise questions and deepen their understanding.

In Gaza, we supported a medical student who had completed her degree but could not receive her certificate until she presented her outstanding tuition fees. HOPING provided a grant to enable her to graduate and begin work as a doctor. We also sponsored the accommodation costs of a young medic from Gaza who took part in a programme at the John Radcliffe Hospital in Oxford.
